Mr. Ram Chandra Kharel, came to the United States of America on November 1991, when there were very few Nepalese people in Washington DC and very few people were aware about Nepal. Despite being the attorney by profession back in Nepal, Mr. Kharel changed his profession to the broadcast field in America. After completion his course on multimedia in USA, he started working as the video engineer at CDR communications (a fulltime television production company), in Virginia, USA.
In 1995, Mr. Ram C. Kharel, heard about many of his colleague mentioned Nepal as a part of India and with that incident Mr. Kharel, felt very offended and decided to introduce Nepal and Nepalese culture through television and launched the Sagarmatha Television program from the capital of the United States of America.
The mission of the Sagarmatha Television, is to “introduce Nepal and Nepalese cultural heritage to the world and let people know that Nepal is an independent and sovereign nation”.
I feel great honor and privilege to broadcast Sagarmatha Television and Nepal Darshan Television program from the nation’s capital of the United State of America.
